This week there were more birds moving into the area, so more Merlin app life birds! The woods walk was super brief but at least the trail-cameras saw some really fun stuff! Enjoy! Amy

Hedge & Hollow: September 7th, 2026

This past week was one for the birds! As they are starting to gather for migration or passing through as they migrate from other areas, we have been spotting them. Weather also moved through this week leaving a lot of rain. It was fantastic! Nights are cooling off and it really is the autumn season. Enjoy! Amy

Gardens & Nature: August 24th, 2026

This week was my daughter’s birthday week, so I had a few busy days celebrating sweet 16! Our woods walks and gardens were fairly quiet, but I still managed to see some new "life birds" for my Merlin app. Late summer on the homestead is just so peaceful right now. Soon we’ll be cutting and stacking firewood to prep for winter! Enjoy! Amy

Gardens & Nature: August 10th, 2026

This week was hot, plain and simple. It also started off really smokey after getting a North East wind to blow all the wildfire smoke our way. We kept to the house most of the time while the smoke hung out but it cleared out nicely by the weekend! We caught some great action on our trail-cams and the Merlin app, explored the local plants on our woods walk, and checked in on the garden harvests. Enjoy! Amy
