St. Croix Breeding Stock
Our Options: We sell both Registered and Commercial (unpapered) St. Croix breeding stock.
Registration Papers: Those that carry papers are Registered with the St. Croix Hair Sheep Breeders. All paperwork transfers will be handled by us and mailed directly to you from the Registry.
Commercial Stock: Unpapered simply means the animal could have been registered but fell just short of our rigorous performance demands for registration. This is a great, economical option for a commercial production setup.
Older Stock: Registered adults who begin to slow down production (but are otherwise completely sound) will be sold as unpapered breeding stock as well.

Feeder Lambs/Market Sheep
Feeder lambs consists of animals that didn’t make the cut as breeding stock. Ram lambs will be castrated in most cases. We do not keep feeder lambs to grow out to finished weights. You must have your own facility for that purpose. We also do not take feeder lambs to processing facilities, that is your responsibility.
Lambs are weighed at weaning (approx 60-90 days of age) and placed into the categories below. We do not sell by the pound. Once our wait list has been picked up, the leftover lambs are weighed once a month and price adjusted accordingly, until they go to auction or in my freezer.
Adult sheep who can no longer be breeding stock (udder issues, old age, etc) will be sold as market animals.
Prices are firm.
Here are the averages.
30-39 lbs: $100
40-49 lbs: $130
50-59 lbs: $160
60-69 lbs: $190
70-79 lbs: $220
80-89 lbs: $250

Deposits
Sales Pages: Prices for breeding stock will be listed for each animal on the sales pages.
Securing Your Spot: $100 deposits will be made for breeding stock sheep to hold until they are available or if they are not getting picked up right away. If I don’t get a deposit to reserve your spot on the waiting list, you may be bumped if someone else pays the deposit.
Refund Policy: All deposits are non-refundable.
Adult Ewes Exposed to Rams
Exposure Fee: If there are any adult breeding stock ewes available for sale, they have the option to be bred before leaving. A $25 exposure fee plus payment in full for the ewe must be received to reserve the animal (replaces the standard $100 deposit). Dates for breeding and pickup will be discussed at that time.
