Shane’s Woodshop
Shane’s been hard at work building his woodshop in our barn overhang. He had just enough money to do a 12×12 section of it. Concrete was put in over last month and this past weekend he’s started building walls.

Sheep Adventures
Not a whole lot going on with the sheep flock. Some of those lambs are growing like crazy and are doing fantastic. They are eating so much in their creep pen it’s empty every morning (going to have to increase it!). Ewes are on the highest feed for another week when I decrease the alfalfa from 2 ewes per flake to 3 ewes per flake. It will decrease again a couple weeks after that to ending completely a couple weeks before weaning.
The lamb that had pneumonia week before last succumbed again so she’s getting a 7 day regimen of higher potency antibiotics while her mom and sister get to enjoy not competing at the feeders for alfalfa. Yesterday morning was her 4th injection so only 3 more to go and hopefully we knock out the pneumonia completely. She seemed much better yesterday which is a good sign.
Chicken/Garden News
Friday I went out and put bird tape around the raised bed garden to keep the chickens out. So far it seems to be working great! I planted some Garlic that I had growing in pots from last fall into the middle raised bed and didn’t really want the chickens scratching it up. They’ve already done a number to the carrots and onions out there! We have a couple other places to put the bird tape to see if it keeps the chickens in better too. Fingers crossed! Eventually there will be a taller fence out there so this is just temporary.

First Snow
The night before and day of Valentines Day was our first snow of the year. Just a dusting but beautiful all the same! It’s looking like later this week we will be getting a new batch along with some lows in the teens. NOT fun!

Around these is Orange Calcite for friendship and Red Tiger’s Eye for passion. The outside circle has Angelite for patience and empathy and Clear Quartz for peace and balance.
