IMPORTANT!
If you would like to see the animals before deciding to purchase, please make an appointment and be prepared to follow our biosecurity protocols mentioned in the Ranch Visits page.
Feeder lambs are available first about a week after weaning (60-90 days old), breeding stock lambs will be available after their 120 day weights. We do not keep feeder lambs to grow out to finished weights. You must have your own facility for that purpose. We also do not take feeder lambs to processing facilities, that is your responsibility.
Prices for breeding stock will be listed for each animal on the sales pages.
$100 deposits will be made for breeding stock sheep to hold until they are available or if they are not getting picked up right away.
If there are any adult ewes being sold, they have the option to be bred before leaving. A $25 exposure fee plus payment in full for the ewe must be received in lieu of the $100 deposit. Dates for breeding and pickup will be discussed at that time.
Prices listed are not a guarantee we will have them for sale. We have potential for animals in any of these categories, but if they don’t make the cut, there won’t be any available in that category.
Feeder Lambs
Feeder lambs consists of lambs that didn’t make the cut as breeding stock. Ram lambs will be castrated in most cases.
They are weighed at weaning (approx 60-90 days of age). We do not sell by the pound. Once our wait list has been picked up, the leftover lambs are weighed once a month and price adjusted accordingly, until I decide they need to go to auction.
Lambs weigh from 30-70lbs at weaning. Most are between 40-65lbs. Prices are firm.
Here are the averages:
30-39lbs – $85
40-49lbs – $110
50-59lbs – $135
60-69lbs – $160
70-79lbs – $185
Adult ewes/rams that can no longer be breeding stock are $175 or less depending on condition and market price.
St Croix Breeding Stock
These are purebred St Croix.
Those that have papers are Registered with St Croix Hair Sheep Breeders.
Paperwork for lambs will be handled by us and mailed to you from the Registry.
Un-papered are sound lambs who fell slightly short of our rigorous demands for Registration, yet are better than feeder lambs.
