Wise Woman Background

The Herbalist

I began my learning of medicinal herbs around the time I started at a Naturopathic Doctor Office in November 2007. I still consider myself a novice, but love knowing what I know! I am studying Intermediate Herbal Course with The Herbal Academy so that I may make herbal topicals for my customers.

Early in 2021 I decided to start the Mushroom Course through the Herbal Academy. What a fun class! I learned the folklore, history, anatomy, uses, etc of mushrooms and other fungi. In fact it is something I will be incorporating in the food forest out in the orchard AND in some herbal remedies I will create in the future.

Right now I’m more focused on making things for family use or just trying things out to see what we like. I’m not set up to create on a more grandiose scale just yet. Our larger focus is getting the yard and orchard planted so more is at our disposal.

The Crystal Practitioner

As a Massage Therapist I understand how energy moves in the body and how the body responds to certain energies presented to it. Look at being around a toxic person. After a while a person starts to feel drained, like their energy has been sapped out of their body. They feel exhausted and need time to regroup and recouperate. Going into energy healing with the intention to heal, relax, and let go of negative energy is the biggest most momentous moment in the energy healing process. Getting the mind to settle into that right place to accept and transmute good energy into healing energy.

I’ve been studying crystals and healing with them for at least the last 15-20 years. Much of the books and websites I’ve seen are ego driven, money making, scams, but there are a few I feel are much more realistic and worth the money. Much of what I purchased to learn or get “attuned” with back when I first started no longer speak to me. We are ever-changing beings after all!

July 20, 2021

I just graduated July 20, 2021 as a Certified Crystal Healer and graduated on November 15, 2021 as a Advanced Crystal Practitioner from Love & Light School of Crystal Therapy, which explains things in a more scientific way. I know my clients want to know WHY things work the way they do, and those courses will give me more of the background to explain it to them. I love science in a galactic way.

Here is a video I made regarding Quartz Crystals versus my hand in melting an ice cube.
I’m also taking some courses from Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy to complement what I’ve learned so far.

Please note that there is no recognition for courses that “certify” you in Crystal Healing. The Certification just indicates you took their course and passed a test. What should be important to you is that I’ve studied a lot of courses and ought to know my stuff! Also, just because I’ve taken a course doesn’t mean I follow it’s directives hook-line-and sinker. If something doesn’t feel right to me, I don’t do it, just as if it does feel right I will do it, whether I learned it in a course or not. I make treatments with crystals my own and tailor treatments to the client, not following a recipe.

Crystal Therapies are currently on hold until I get a place better setup for them in my house.

The Mystic

I’m rather Agnostic, somewhat pagan, though not a worshipper of any dieties or a caster of spells. I am very open minded and believe there is so much we don’t understand. We are all part of the universe, I believe in the Otherworld and the Fae, I believe in the energies in Nature and I believe ancient cultures understood far more of this than we do at this point in time.

I have a huge interest in all things “Celtic”. I’m a member of OBOD (Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids) and have finished the Bard level and hope to be accepted into the Ovate level one day. I love the nature spirituality/philosophy and the ties to my Celtic ancestors.

I have been fascinated by the history of my ancestors for as long as I can remember. I’ve studied the Celtic culture/folklore/mythos for many years and more recently have begun taking an interest in the Scandinavian side of things. After all, you can’t have ancestors from Ireland/Scotland/England without a Scandinavian influence. Even some of the Normans had Scandinavian in their blood (ancestors of William the Conqueror). Interestingly some of the Russian bloodlines also trace back to these “Vikings”. I also have an interest in the various waves of inhabitants of England/Scotland/Ireland. I’ve studied maps of the invasions and watched many documentaries on the subject. Also whenever I watch something based on historical facts, I research them as I go to see what historians think actually happened. I kind of geek out on the subject for a while haha.

I have studied with a group in Salem that works to develop intuitive gifts and understanding how spirit communicates with us. Reading Tarot and other divinatory tools is something we did regularly in our classes. As a result, I still love cartomancy (tarot and oracle cards) as well as casting runes/ogham/stones, and from time to time do fire gazing or scrying.

I do have my credentials of ministry from the Universal Life Church so I’m covered in my spiritual things I do.

Intuitive Cartomancy is on hold currently.
